Start a company in Singapore — costs, steps, and a free hand

2 · The 6 steps, in order

This is the whole process for a standard private limited (Pte Ltd) company.

  1. Reserve your company name on Bizfile+
    ACRA name application — S$15, usually approved the same day unless referred.
  2. Line up at least one Singapore-resident director
    A citizen, PR or eligible pass holder ordinarily resident here (Companies Act s145).
  3. Set your registered office address
    A Singapore address where notices can be served (a provider’s address is fine).
  4. Prepare the incorporation documents
    Constitution, director/shareholder particulars and ID (NRIC or passport), proof of address.
  5. Incorporate on Bizfile+
    ACRA incorporation fee — S$300. Often done within a day once documents are in order.
  6. Within 6 months: appoint a corporate secretary
    Mandatory. Also open the bank account and diarise your FYE, AGM and annual-return deadlines.
